About the Captain

Raised on a barrier island in New Jersey, and never living more than a couple hundred yards from the Ocean or bay has made boats the first love of Captain Ron's life. He worked in the Marine Industry for 15 years in sales and servicing for top marine franchises.

Captain Ron owned and operated two fishing vessels named Finestkind out of Cape May and Sea Isle City, NJ, targeting mostly lobster and black sea bass. He designed both of his vessels, and had them built in Harkers Island, NC. He personally fitted out both vessels and designed many innovative features in the boats and traps that are now standards in the industry.

Having been an avid fisherman, and having chartered Finestkind for several years, the Captain is well versed on the subjects of sport fishing and fishing equipment. The Atlantic Ocean between Ocean City, MD and Little Egg Inlet, NJ and from Washington Canyon to the Hudson Canyon is like a second home to Captain Ron. He has a lifetime of experience working on and around boats, and currently holds a Coastwise Masters License for 100 tons, 200 miles offshore coastwise. He currently enjoys sailing his 32' Island Packet sailboat and fishing from his 18' Parker.
